LineWork
2024 – 2026

The series LineWork explores my process of creating, breaking down, and reshaping lines. Coming from a background in drafting, precision has always been central to my practice. Accurate linework is critical in professional drafting, where every line must communicate information with clarity and intention. Each drawing begins with loose pencil marks before being refined into bold, precise lines using a 0.1 Micron pen. I consider this process a form of meditation, moving from intuitive marks to concentrated and deliberate linework.

This daily exercise results in a simple composition, typically composed as a portrait-length piece. Some drawings are perfectly symmetrical, others asymmetrical or completely random, but each follows its own rhythm. I see these pieces as my “linework”—simple ideas that can be recreated or reinterpreted. On their own, they tell a simple story; some may convey personality, while others feel more rigid or fluid. There is no conscious story during the conception of each drawing. Instead, the process is an exercise in rhythm, form, and composition.

Together, these drawings form a personal design vocabulary—a collection of lines and forms that serve as a foundation for further exploration across different compositions and materials.
